A major milestone for any engineering company, #OrthotropicEngineering is incredibly proud to have recently completed our first end-to-end design project! In a brief departure from our normal focus on composite structures, we were commissioned to design a steel and timber access bridge in association with steel fabricator Jack Lindsay.
14 metres in span and manufactured in three sections for ease of transportation, the bridge is capable of handling regular light traffic and occasional heavy vehicles .
At Orthotropic, we were pleased to undertake the design work, CAD modelling and detailed analysis of the bridge before delivering a comprehensive set of manufacturing drawings and laser cutting files. Construction is currently underway, with completion anticipated later this year.
